Yellow Trucks on a Rainy Day

I was waiting for Doug to get his brass and suddenly became very bored.  So I decided to engage myself in a little bit of impressionistic photography.  These are some trucks across the parking lot shot through my wet windshield.

Staying in a similar color scheme, the walls in our yellow bathroom are decorated with old cat-themed sheet music.  I recently happened to be visiting the Peacherine Ragtime Orchestra's website and discovered, to my great amusement and delight, that they have a music sample posted for the first song on my wall, the one entitled Meow.  If you'd like to hear what this lively one-step from 1918 sounds like, then just click here:   MEOW!    Enjoy!

Yellow is my favorite color. And I LOVE that image of the trucks.

Thanks Kate - it was sort of a funhouse mirror photo-op.

Very lively music. I wonder why it's called MEOW? I could actually picture a bunch of cats being chased by a bunch of dogs...

That's a bold yellow bathroom. I love the way you found things to frame that fit right in.

Barbara - I can actually hear MEE-OW in a few spots in the melody. I'd have to take the frame apart to see what the actually lyrics are, or if it even has lyrics.

One of Doug's friends gave us a framed copy of a somewhat obscure old song called "Cynthia's in Love" for a wedding present, and that probably is what headed me in the direction of acquiring several of these cat-themed novelty numbers that were popular back in the days when the piano in the parlor was the main source of entertainment in many households. They add a touch of whimsy to our teeny-tiny yellow powder room.
