Endless Summer

Did you all hear the thunderstorm in the middle of the night last night?

Today Doug asked me if I knew whether it had rained alot last night. When I asked him why he wanted to know that, he said that sometime in the middle of the night last night I woke him up and said "Be quiet - I'm trying to listen to the thunderstorm!" Well he was probably snoring so loudly that I couldn't hear the thunder outside. And the snoring was probably the main reason I was awake enough to want to hear thunder instead. I really can't remember now though - it's all kind of a blur.

In other news, I've been longing to get some hydrangeas for about ten years now. Today we finally bought a pair of them, along with some deer repellent. They are called Endless Summer. I really like that name and I can't wait to get them planted!

Me too! Sadly - the one I got for our front garden didn't fare so well... We ended up moving it to our neighbor's back garden where it would have more shade. Oh well - we knew our full sun plot of land would be a challenge... Love that first shot!

I've heard they like a mix of sun and shade, especially morning sun and afternoon shade. At this point our property is so bare that the only real shade comes from the house. But I have a feeling the biggest challenge is going to be the deer munching the flowers. I guess we'll find out soon enough.
