Sunday Afternoon Sky
The clouds were pretty cool looking this afternoon. These photos only show a tiny bit of what was up there today. Clouds like this always make me happy, especially when the sun is shining through them.
Thanks Mike. These sudden short but intense non-thunderstorm rain showers we've been having over the past couple of days are kind of weird, aren't they?
They are. The mix of clouds and sun have made for some interesting photo ops. I took one today while waiting at a traffic light in Tysons Corner. I could see distinct bands of sunlight coming through an opening in the clouds. If I wanted to be dramatic, I guess I could say that they were coming down from the heavens!
We have been having interesting skies the last few days, haven't we. That's a whole area of photography I haven't tried out yet. I like how you captured them.
ps-Check out Me Ra's blog. She has some DVDs that might tie you over before she comes back to the east coast.
Mike - I've seen those bands of light about 30 times as often this past year than I have in all of the other years combined. I wonder what that means?
Mamma - I'm so glad I stumbled upon your blog. I'm going to look into those DVD's.
Barbara - yes clouds are always fun to photograph. Since I couldn't do anything about the wires I decided that I liked the texture they added to the picture.

Nice. I saw a few cool ones myself - not including the ones that brought a late afternoon rain.

It's too bad the wires have to get in the way. Clouds offer an unending set of photo ops, yes?
Gorgeous pics.
