V is for.....

Venus! Has anyone else out there noticed how big and bright Venus has been lately? If not, check it out around 8pm in the western sky. It's up at about a 45% angle from the ground. It almost looks like an airplane headlight except that it doesn't move. I've never seen it this bright before.

So how do you know it's Venus?!

Well it might not be Venus, but I'm too lazy to not take Doug's word for it. He thinks it's Venus. Sometimes he's right, but not always. Do you think it's some other star?

My whole life I never got the Big Dipper thing and how I was supposed to recognize it. Like one of those pictures that you're supposed to look at sort of cross-eyed and see another picture inside it - I have never been able to do that. Then all of a sudden within the last year I started seeing the Big Dipper all the time. Orion and the Pleiades I have always recognized. Maybe I'll try to add Venus to my repertoire too.

How's Wilbur? Or should I say, where's Wilbur (V is for VERY bad pun).

I would trust Doug too! I don't know one star from another.

I've never been able to find anything in the sky except for Orion's belt, ONCE. They all just look like... well, stars.

I've recognized the Little Dipper before but that's about it. Everything else is just a bunch of pretty stars. Except Venus, which is bigger and brighter.

More posts! More posts!

It's been too long - your public is waiting. At least I am, that is.

Okay, okay, already. I haven't been able to think of anything to write about and I don't have any good new pictures, so what good am I?
