trying to appreciate the cold
I'm stuck working outside these days and unfortunately it involves a lot of standing around in the freezing cold. Fortunately I'm able to entertain myself by taking pictures until the next time I have to help Doug lift something, hold a board in place, or help with the sawing.

P.S. I'm loving scales these days. And Bach Prelude and Fugue XXI! How did I miss these things for so long?
Actually maybe it was some other guy who did the TV painting show, but you know what I meant (despite leaving out "with")!
Ha Ha Ha! It does look like the work of John Nagy. The colors around my house get very strange in the late afternoon sun.
WTC #21 - Is that the one in Bb? I love that one. It's really fun to play although I'd hate to hear myself play it today with my frozen fingers. I'm more suited to quarter notes on the bass these days!
That's the one. I love the way Bach changes keys without ever changing key signatures -- resulting in all those sharps, flats, and accidentals. As Bill says, every one of these pieces was written with a distinct purpose. What a musical master Bach was!
Don't believe for a minute that I can play either of these at speed, but I like the way they sound at any tempo.

The azaleas at my former house always had a few confused branches that bloomed in the fall. Now here's an azalea poser for you -- some of those azaleas have branches with different colors on them in the spring (and no, I checked, it's not just another trunk coming up)
You know, my azaleas bloomed in November too. I think it's because I decided to prune them about a month earlier...
I think azaleas must be easily confused by the weather and other things. I have no idea how an azalea could bloom in different colors unless some sort of grafting had occured at some point.
